Ces dernières années, le profil de risque des patients ayant subi une
chirurgie cardiaque a beaucoup changé. L’âge des patients est en
constante augmentation et, avec lui, le taux de comorbidités connexes.
Les
patients présentant une cardiomyopathie ischémique et une réduction
importante de la fraction d’éjection ventriculaire gauche (FEVG)
semblent tirer profit d’une revascularisation chirurgicale par rapport
au seul traitement médicamenteux.
Chez les patients présentant
une FEVG réduite, la mortalité postopératoire est sensiblement plus
élevée et les complications graves telles que l’insuffisance rénale ou
pulmonaire, l’infarctus du myocarde ou l’AVC sont plus fréquentes.
