Energy-dense versus routine enteral nutrition in the critically ill.

Cette vaste étude multicentrique, randomisée et contrôlée s’intéresse au
thème déjà abordé de l’apport énergétique optimal chez les patients en
soins intensifs en utilisant soit une solution nutritive entérale avec
une solution nutritive standard (1 kcal/ml, 24 kcal/kg PCI/jour), soit
une solution ayant une teneur énergétique accrue (1,5 kcal/ml, 36
kcal/kg PCI/jour) (The TARGET Investigators; N Engl J Med 2018: 397:
1823).
L’apport énergétique total était de 1930 kcal/jour contre
1407 kcal/jour, soit, sur une base pondérale réelle, 27,3 kcal/kg/jour
contre 23,1 kcal/kg/jour. L’apport en protéines était identique dans les
deux groupes avec environ 1,1 g/kg/jour.
